About the Role:
At Geo Varuna Environmental Services Ltd, we support businesses, public sector partners, and development projects with geospatial planning, environmental data, mapping support, land analysis, and project coordination. We believe strong geospatial work should be accurate, practical, and useful for real decision making.
We are looking for a Geospatial Project Manager who can take ownership of mapping projects, survey coordination, spatial data workflows, and client delivery. This is a key technical management role for someone who understands how to manage project timelines, coordinate specialists, review data quality, and turn geographic information into clear project outcomes.
You will work closely with senior management, GIS specialists, survey teams, environmental consultants, clients, and external partners to make sure geospatial projects are delivered accurately, on time, and to agreed standards. You will be expected to manage project plans, support technical reviews, communicate with stakeholders, and help improve delivery processes.
Why Work With Us?
The Environment:
Our team is based in Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taf, with work connected to environmental services, mapping, land data, infrastructure support, and geospatial projects across South Wales and the wider UK market. We value a professional, organised, and technically focused workplace where reliable data supports better planning.
Project Ownership:
You will have real responsibility for managing geospatial projects, coordinating technical teams, improving delivery standards, and supporting client outcomes.
Career Growth:
This role is ideal for someone who wants to move further into senior geospatial leadership, environmental project management, GIS operations, or technical consulting.

Team Leadership:
Support GIS analysts, survey teams, environmental specialists, contractors, and project coordinators. Provide clear direction and practical support to maintain delivery standards.
Client and Stakeholder Management:
Work with clients, senior management, consultants, local partners, and external stakeholders to clarify project needs, present updates, and resolve delivery issues.
Quality Assurance:
Review mapping outputs, data accuracy, documentation, project deliverables, and reporting standards to ensure work is reliable and professionally presented.
Environmental and Land Data Support:
Support projects involving land use, environmental assessment, infrastructure planning, site analysis, mapping, and risk review.
Reporting and Process Improvement:
Prepare project reports, status updates, risk logs, technical summaries, and improvement actions. Use project feedback to strengthen future delivery.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in geospatial project management, GIS, land surveying, environmental consulting, mapping, spatial data analysis, or a similar technical project role.
Leadership:
Previous experience managing GIS teams, survey staff, contractors, analysts, consultants, or cross functional project groups is strongly preferred.
Geospatial Skills:
Strong understanding of GIS workflows, mapping systems, spatial datasets, data quality checks, project documentation, and technical reporting.
Project Management Knowledge:
Good knowledge of project planning, stakeholder communication, timelines, risk tracking, resource coordination, and delivery standards.
Communication:
You can communicate clearly and professionally with technical teams, clients, senior management, consultants, contractors, and non technical stakeholders.
Problem Solving:
You are confident handling data issues, project delays, client concerns, mapping errors, changing requirements, and technical delivery challenges.
