We are looking for a reliable and motivated Worker's Mate / Fire Door Surveyor to join our growing team. This is a full-time position working across hospital sites in Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, supporting fire door inspections and helping to maintain the highest standards of fire safety compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, has good attention to detail, and is looking to build a career within the fire safety industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with fire door inspections across hospital environments.
- Record inspection findings accurately using digital reporting systems.
- Measure, photograph and document fire doors and associated components.
- Support qualified surveyors and carpenters during inspections and remedial works.
- Ensure work areas are kept safe, clean and organised.
- Work professionally and respectfully within occupied healthcare environments.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and professional attitude.
- Comfortable using tablets or mobile devices for recording inspection data.
Desirable
- Previous experience in construction, maintenance, surveying or fire safety.
- Experience working in hospitals or other occupied commercial buildings.
- Knowledge of fire doors or building compliance.
- CSCS Card.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
