Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our distribution team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting food products safely and efficiently to customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards.
This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced food logistics environment where customer satisfaction and operational excellence are key priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans and/or lorries) to deliver food products to designated locations
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Load and unload goods safely, including heavy lifting, ensuring product integrity and temperature control where required
- Ensure deliveries are completed accurately, on schedule, and with excellent customer service
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation in line with company and food safety requirements
- Adhere to food hygiene, temperature control, and health & safety regulations at all times
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery updates or issues
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a commercial driving role
- Valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type with less than 6 points
- Experience within food distribution or logistics is highly desirable
- Understanding of food safety and temperature-controlled deliveries is advantageous
- Ability to carry out heavy lifting safely
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Professional communication skills and customer-focused attitude
