Pay Rate: £14.59 per hour PAYE
About the Role
We are currently seeking a reliable and adaptable Maintenance Person G5 – Building Services & Maintenance to join an established maintenance team. The role involves carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and general upkeep across domestic properties, temporary accommodation, hostels and community living schemes. The successful candidate will provide a professional, customer-focused service while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs and general upkeep across domestic properties, temporary accommodation, hostels and community living schemes
- Complete general repair, painting, carpentry and low-level maintenance tasks as required
- Review maintenance requests, prioritise work and respond flexibly to urgent or unexpected tasks
- Maintain internal and external areas, including communal spaces, grounds, car parks and bin areas
- Remove bulk rubbish and relocate or move furniture and equipment when required
- Purchase and collect maintenance consumables and monitor stock levels
- Ensure tools and equipment are secure, well maintained and fit for purpose
- Maintain accurate records and report relevant information to the appropriate team
- Support compliance with fire, health and safety requirements, including maintaining appropriate records and following fire drill procedures
- Carry out driving duties where required as part of the service
- Provide a professional and customer-focused service when working with residents, colleagues and other service users
- Follow the Council's equality, safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety policies and procedures
- Undertake other reasonable maintenance or handyman duties appropriate to the role and grade
- Work from different locations as required by the needs of the service
Requirements

Experience and Knowledge
- Experience of carrying out basic maintenance work in a domestic or commercial environment
- Experience of working with customers or service users
- Experience of using technology in the workplace
