Job Description:
Gardens by Grace is a small business specialising in private and commercial landscape design, installation and maintenance. A large proportion of your work will be garden & landscape maintenance with intermittent work helping with planting projects.
Your role will include but not restricted to:
- Garden Maintenance – Grass cutting, strimming, weeding, prunning etc of mainly show home arenas, open green spaces and some private gardens.
- Planting / Turfing / Mulching flower beds.
- Operate hand tools and power tools and garden machinery safely and effectively to complete maintenance tasks.
- Follow all health and safety training and risk assessments and wear the correct PPE provided at all times
- You will work with another person initially but will be required to work alone on a regular basis once you are comfortable with the role. Sometimes you will work with an another person or more.
- Driving to and from sites that are on the maintenance round.
Experience:
- Previous gardening / maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (you must dress appropriately for the weather with waterproofs when necessary).
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks including lifting, digging, and being on the move for your shift.
- Energetic with a methodical work ethic to get the most out of the day.
- A keen eye for detail to ensure high standards of garden aesthetics are maintained.
- Conscientious and care about doing a good job and not cutting corners.
- Ability to listen and follow instructions you are given and not afraid to ask if unsure.
- PA1 & 6 Pesticides License would be advantageous.
- Training will be provided so you are aware of the standards required.
- You must be punctual and reliable.
- Full UK Driving License
- Must have or obtain a CSCS card, minimum temporary workers card or green labourer card (compensated over first 4 weeks of work).
Hours:
- Part Time - 24- 32 hours per week. Possibly more available - Can discuss options on application.
Contract: Temp to perm - For the correct candidate, there may be an oppourtunity to turn this into a permanent position
Pay: £13.75p/h
