Saturday Market Set-Up Assistant Unicorn Markets C.I.C. – Bathgate Market & Car Boot Sale Location: Bathgate, West Lothian, EH48 1HH Hours: Saturdays, 6:00am–9:00am Pay: £12.71 per hour Job type: Part-time, weekend work About the role We are looking for a reliable and practical person to help set up Bathgate Market & Car Boot Sale every Saturday morning. You will work alongside our small, friendly team to prepare the site before traders and visitors arrive. No previous experience is required, as full instructions will be provided. Main responsibilities - Setting up and taking down pop-up gazebos - Attaching weights and securing gazebos safely - Setting out tables and equipment for traders - Moving equipment around the market site - Helping ensure the market is ready to open on time - Supporting the market team with other practical set-up tasks when required About you The role involves regular lifting and carrying, so applicants must be reasonably fit and comfortable handling folded gazebos, tables and weights safely. You do not need to be exceptionally strong, but you should be happy doing practical and active work. The ideal applicant will be: - Reliable and punctual, particularly for the 6:00am start - Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions - Friendly, helpful and able to work as part of a small team - Able to follow instructions and work safely - Aged 16 or over and past school-leaving age - Able to travel to the Bathgate market site early on Saturday mornings This role could suit a student looking for regular weekend work or anyone who enjoys practical, active work and being part of a community market.
