We are looking for a Butchery Assistant. Working for the largest independent retailer in South Wales. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food production and safety standards, ensuring high-quality service and product presentation. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and processing of various meats, ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards
- Cut, trim, and portion meat products according to specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the butchery workspace, including tools and equipment
- Support inventory management by receiving deliveries, checking stock levels, and rotating stock appropriately
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination and ensure product quality
- Collaborate with team members to fulfill orders efficiently and accurately
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of meat cuts, supplies, and waste management
- Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to health regulations and safety procedures
Experience
- Knowledge of butchery techniques and meat handling procedures desirable by not essential as full training is provided.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in food preparation.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including food preparation and sanitation protocols.

Pay: £8.00-£13.00 per hour
