We are looking for a Learning Support Mentor (KS2) who will be responsible for supporting pupils with EHCP needs in their lessons , starting work in September 2026.
This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) and we are looking for candidates who can strike the right balance of supporting each pupil, either on a one-to-one basis, small groups or alongside the class teacher along with having a strong emphasis on pastoral. Although some aspects of this role will be to help children with identified needs, we envisage this role to be so much more, supporting all children and abilities.
Specific requirements of the role are as follows:
· Work with individuals or small groups of students in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff and provide feedback to the teacher; support and monitor specific individual students in periods when they are required to undertake remote learning.
· Support individual students with identified needs to access learning by modifying learning materials and resources and becoming familiar with relevant software programmes for SEND students where required.
· Support students to understand instructions and support independent learning as well as the inclusion of all students.
· Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping on task.
· Support students in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher and/or SEN Manager as appropriate.
· Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety, security and confidentiality and report all concerns to your line manager or SENCO.
· Contribute to the overall work/aims of the school and appreciate and support the role of colleagues and other professionals to enable the school to fulfil its development plans.
· Undertake training and other learning activities and attend relevant meetings as required to ensure continuing professional development.
Invigilate exams and tests when necessary.
