About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Civils Supervisor / Working Supervisor to join our team on a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Eggborough, Goole.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable supervising teams, coordinating multiple work fronts, and getting stuck into the work when required.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a range of civil engineering works across the project, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.
Typical Works Include
- Deep excavations and trenching
- HV cable route installation
- Ducting and draw pit installation
- Reinforced concrete foundations, plinths and bunds
- Rebar installation and formwork
- Drainage and earthworks
- Backfilling and reinstatement
- Structural steel installation
- General civils and infrastructure works
- Coordination of plant, labour and subcontractors
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise multiple work fronts across the project
- Lead daily briefings and ensure safe systems of work are followed
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Set out works using engineering control points and site information
- Coordinate labour, plant, deliveries and materials
- Ensure permits and inspections are in place prior to commencing works
- Liaise with Site Management, Engineers and subcontractors
- Monitor quality, productivity and programme requirements
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
- Complete site records, inspections and daily reports
- Provide practical support to site teams and assist with works as required
Essential Requirements
- SSSTS minimum (SMSTS advantageous)
- Valid CSCS Card
- Strong civils background
- Experience supervising groundworks or civil engineering projects
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience with reinforced concrete works
- Experience in excavation and utility installation works
- Good understanding of permits, RAMS and safe systems of work
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple activities

- EUSR
- Lifting Operations knowledge
- Previous BESS, HV, Substation or Energy Infrastructure experience
