Receptionist
Employment type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 2:30pm - 5:30pm
Salary: £24,785.00 pro rata
About Us
Lance Consolidation Limited provides a central support function for a multi-tenanted office building and wider property operations.
The Receptionist role forms part of a supportive facilities and operations team responsible for the day-to-day running of the building and supporting its tenants, including YMP, YRP, YPP, TPS and 360CRTL. The successful candidate will be employed by Lance Consolidation Limited, the central function company.
The wider team also oversees commercial and residential property management, providing opportunities to gain exposure to broader property and facilities activities.
We are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to supporting a positive and inclusive working environment. A whole year of culture initiatives aims to raise money for charity, improve wellbeing of employees and encourage engagement in the organisation’s community.
The organisation also provides a range of opportunities to support wellbeing, engagement and community, including a community organised run club, an organisation organised Friday gym session locally, quarterly building-wide quizzes and food vans throughout the year. Employees can also benefit from end of year gifts and an annual party.
For those who reach 5 year tenure, a Death in Service benefit - three times salary benefit is available for those of 5 year tenure within the business, including through continued employment (where relevant).
The building provides a welcoming environment, with an on-site breakfast available daily, fresh fruit delivered weekly and an on-site barista preparing hot and cold drinks all morning. Secure parking is also available, either on site or within a 3 minute walk.
The Role
We are looking for a personable, professional and organised Receptionist to join our team on a part-time, permanent basis.
This is a varied role where no two days are necessarily the same. You will be a key first point of contact for visitors, delivery personnel and contractors, while supporting the wider facilities and operations team with the smooth running of the building.
A receptionist is already in place until 2:30pm, so this role will work collaboratively with them to ensure effective coverage and handover throughout the day.
Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Door and building access management
- Welcoming and managing visitors
- Health & Safety walkarounds and reporting issues
- Booking regular maintenance and contractor visits
- Receiving and managing deliveries
- General office and facilities management support
- Car park management
- Communication with cleaning staff
- Grocery ordering as required
- Stationery ordering as required
- Supporting the wider team with other reasonable facilities and operational tasks
About You
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced and varied environment, where priorities can change and no two days are necessarily the same.
You will need to arrive each day, quickly understand where things stand, pick up outstanding matters and react appropriately to the needs of the building and its tenants.
You will work as part of a wider team, but we are looking for someone who can become confident and self-sufficient once trained. The management team is supportive and available to provide guidance when required, but the ideal candidate will be able to complete tasks independently, use their initiative and recognise when something needs to be escalated.
This role is not suited to someone who needs a daily task list. We are looking for someone who can stay organised and take ownership of their responsibilities.
Essential & Desired Characteristics
The successful candidate will be:
- Personable, friendly and professional
- Approachable and well organised
- A confident communicator, both in person and by email
- Calm and composed under pressure
- Flexible and adaptable
- Willing to get stuck into a wide range of tasks
- Comfortable working independently once trained
- Able to use initiative and identify when matters need escalating
- Competent using Microsoft Office
- Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a wider team
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will enjoy being busy, take pride in maintaining a professional environment and be happy to respond to whatever the day brings.
You will be professional when dealing with visitors, contractors and tenants, while also being willing to get involved with the practical tasks required to keep the building running smoothly.
Once trained, we expect the successful candidate to manage their responsibilities with a good degree of independence, while knowing when to ask for guidance or report something outside the normal course of business.
If you are organised, personable, flexible and enjoy working as part of a team while taking ownership of your workload, this could be an excellent opportunity to join Fair Trade House.
