Something spectacular is happening at Pudsey Park. As part of a major regeneration of a much-beloved local institution, we are launching The Really Wild Café—a stunning, unique destination dining experience contained within Pudsey Park’s beautiful, light-filled glasshouse.
Designed to perfectly complement The Really Wild Zoo next door, our café features a breathtaking centrepiece: The UK's longest fish tank, which flows through the building to elegantly divide the seating areas. We aren’t just serving coffee; we are creating an unforgettable, immersive experience. We need an enthusiastic, customer-focused team to help us bring this vision to life.
The Role
As a Café Assistant, you will be the face of The Really Wild Café. Working in a vibrant, fast-paced environment, your day-to-day will include:
- Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Preparing and serving fresh sandwiches, paninis, cakes and snacks.
- Providing warm, engaging, and friendly service to families, park-goers, and zoo visitors.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including cleaning equipment, tables, and work surfaces.
- Follow food safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
- Using our modern electronic point-of-sale (EPOS) till system efficiently.
- Managing entry/exit into and out of our rainforest.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
What We Are Looking For
- The Personality: A warm, energetic, and positive attitude. You love interacting with people and animals, and thrive in a bustling family environment.
- The Experience: Previous experience working in a fast-paced café/hospitality setting, a willingness to learn and a passion for great service is essential. In-date first aid certification, a good understanding of basic maths and knowledge of food safety standards are desirable.
