We're Carpet Style, a family-run flooring business that's been fitting carpets and floors across the East Midlands since 1981. This August we're opening our newest showroom on Market Street in Ashby — our first shop in Leicestershire — and we're looking for someone to run it.
Here's the honest bit: we're not fussed about whether you've managed a shop before. We can teach you carpets. We can teach you the till, the diary, the paperwork. What we can't teach is caring — about customers, about getting things right, about the shop itself. If that's you, we'd like to hear from you.
What the job actually looks like
You'll be the face of our Ashby showroom. Day to day that means welcoming people in, helping them find the right floor for their home, taking measurements booked in, keeping the showroom looking sharp, and making sure every customer leaves feeling looked after. You'll book in our fitting teams, chase up the little details that make a job go smoothly, and generally be the person who makes the place tick.
It's a hands-on role in a small, friendly business — not a corner office. Some days are quiet and you'll be tidying displays and following up leads; some days are busy and you're juggling three customers and a phone that won't stop. We'll back you either way.
Who we're hoping to hear from
Someone who:
- Genuinely likes people and doesn't mind a good natter
- Takes pride in doing a job properly, even the small stuff
- Is reliable, honest, and happy to take ownership of the shop
- Computer literate
- Can pick things up quickly and isn't afraid to ask questions
- Wants to build something — this is a brand-new store, and you'd help shape it
No flooring experience needed. No management experience needed. A warm manner and a bit of common sense go a lot further with us.
