Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Health and Social Care Worker to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to individuals in care homes and senior care settings. The successful candidate will play a vital part in enhancing the well-being and independence of service users, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and empathy. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation requirements, and previous supervising experience is advantageous for leadership responsibilities within the team. We are looking for one carer to be located in the Darenth area.
Duties
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support
- Supervise and mentor junior staff or volunteers, fostering a positive team environment
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, adhering to organisational policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with service users, families, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care needs
- Support service users in engaging with social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Use IT systems to update care documentation and report any concerns or incidents promptly
- Contribute to the development and review of personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a care home or senior care environment is desirable, currently holding the Care Certificate (if not, training can be given), Level 2 or 3, and a good understanding of dementia.
- Supervising or leadership experience within health or social care settings is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with service users, families, and colleagues
- Ability to utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Valid driving licence preferred for transportation duties
- Knowledge of care planning processes and adherence to health & safety regulations
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for vulnerable individuals
After 3 month probation, the hourly rate will increase and be discussed at interview.
