Frank H Mann (Torquay) Ltd are looking to recruit a multi skilled production operative in our Prepared Vegetable Division.
This is a permanent part time role, approx 16-20 hrs per week, including weekend work.
You'll be learning from our experienced team in our small but functional prep department.
You will learn how to use the machinery and prepare our produce to the highest standards, while working within strict safety and hygiene guidelines.
You must be a good listener, safety conscious, flexible on the days you're available to work and physically fit.
This role will include departmental cleaning so if you have experience in this area and are looking for a bit more to challenge you, this role could be a great fit!
You'll also learn the ins and outs of maintaining and repairing machinery so if you have an engineering or maintenance background, an interest in this area or are generally a methodical thinker, then do apply.
Responsibilities:
- Operate production machinery and equipment according to established procedures
- Work within food safety and industry guidelines
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure proper functioning (with supervision)
- Hand-cut, peel and prep vegetables
- Weigh, bag and label finished produce
- Maintain quality standards
- Follow safety protocols and keep a clean and organized work area
- Clean through the department and assist in regular deep cleaning procedures.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Mechanical knowledge and aptitude for operating machinery and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Industrial cleaning experience
Experience in any area is not essential. But a positive attitude, a good work ethic and being willing to get your hands dirty and do your share are all needed to be a permanent part of this small but efficient team.
