Elizavet is looking for an experienced and compassionate Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our growing 24/7 team in North London.
Based at our modern independent clinic on Belsize Road, near Kilburn High Road, Elizavet provides first-opinion care, referral services, advanced diagnostics, surgery and emergency treatment under one roof. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident vet who enjoys emergency and inpatient care, values clinical freedom, and wants to work in a supportive, well-equipped independent practice.
The role
You will work a 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota, providing emergency and out-of-hours care for our patients and supporting hospitalised cases overnight.
Your role will include:
- Managing emergency consultations and urgent cases overnight
- Providing excellent inpatient care and monitoring
- Stabilising medical and surgical emergencies
- Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients during stressful situations
- Working closely with our day team to ensure seamless handovers and continuity of care
- Using our advanced facilities to support confident clinical decision-making
- Helping maintain the high standards of care that Elizavet is known for
About Elizavet
Elizavet is an independent veterinary clinic serving Camden, Kilburn, Hampstead, West Hampstead, Belsize Park, St John’s Wood, Maida Vale, Queen’s Park and the wider North London community.
Our clinic offers a comprehensive range of services, including GP care, emergency care, first and second opinions, referral services, orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
Our facilities include consultation rooms, surgical theatres, a dental theatre, X-ray, CT, ultrasound, physiotherapy space and separate intensive care areas for dogs, cats and infectious patients.
We are a close, committed team who believe pets should be treated as part of the family, and clients should feel understood, supported and informed at every stage of their pet’s care.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for a veterinary surgeon who is:
- MRCVS registered
- Confident with emergency and out-of-hours work
- Comfortable with sole-charge decision-making overnight
- Calm, practical and compassionate under pressure
- Skilled at client communication
- Committed to high clinical standards and excellent patient care
- A strong team player who values clear handovers and collaboration
Experience in ECC, emergency practice, hospital work or sole-charge night work would be highly desirable, but we are open to speaking with vets who have the right attitude, confidence and clinical foundations.
