About Us & The Role We’re A-Z Truck Parts, an established, independent family-run commercial vehicle parts specialist in Stoke-on-Trent. We are looking for a knowledgeable and customer-focused individual to join our Office Sales and Parts Desk team.
In this fast-paced role, you will be the technical backbone for our local trade customers—taking calls, identifying heavy-goods vehicle parts, and providing rapid quotes to keep fleets moving. Because we work as a tight-knit team, this role isn't just tied to a desk. When we are exceptionally busy or short-staffed, we need someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves, help out in the warehouse, or jump in the van to cover occasional local deliveries.
What You’ll Do
- Handle Sales Calls: Manage a high volume of incoming calls from trade accounts, workshops, and fleet operators.
- Identify Parts: Use electronic cataloging systems to accurately find commercial vehicle parts (HGV, LCV, and Trailer).
- Process Orders: Generate quotes, check stock availability, and process live sales orders through our internal database.
- Serve Walk-Ins: Provide friendly, front-of-house support at the trade counter for local customers.
- Pitch In: Step away from the desk to help pick and pack orders in the warehouse, or jump in the company van to cover local delivery routes when required.
- Source Items: Track down and order non-stock or special items directly from our manufacturing partners.
What You Need
- Industry Experience: Proven experience working in a Motor Factor, dealership parts department, or commercial vehicle workshop.
- Catalog Knowledge: Familiarity with automotive cataloging systems (such as Autocat, TecDoc, or similar).
- Driving License: Full UK driving license (max 3 points). Because you will occasionally need to drive the company van, candidates must meet the minimum age requirements set by our commercial fleet insurance provider.
- Tech-Savvy: Strong IT skills with the ability to navigate inventory software quickly and accurately.
- Communication Skills: An excellent telephone manner and the ability to stay calm and helpful under pressure.
- Team Player: A proactive, flexible attitude with a willingness to handle physical warehouse tasks and driving duties when needed.
What You Get
- Contract: A secure, permanent full-time position within a highly established, growing local business.
- Environment: A fast-paced, engaging workplace where your technical knowledge is valued.
- Perks: A competitive starting salary with real opportunities for growth, plus staff purchasing discounts on parts and consumables.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
