Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Indian Curry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for authentic Indian cuisine and have extensive experience in food preparation and kitchen management. This role involves preparing a variety of traditional Indian dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Duties
- Prepare, cook, and present authentic Indian curries and other traditional dishes with attention to detail and authenticity.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance on food preparation, presentation, and safety standards.
- Manage food production processes to ensure timely delivery of dishes during service hours.
- Oversee food safety practices, including hygiene standards and proper storage procedures.
- Assist in menu planning and development to introduce new dishes and seasonal specials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Train junior staff members on cooking techniques, food safety, and customer service standards.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience in cooking authentic Indian cuisine, particularly specialising in curry dishes.
- Supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong background in food production, kitchen management, and team leadership.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a professional kitchen environment.
- Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality industry is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Prior experience serving customers or managing service operations is advantageous.
