About the Position
The Director of Professional Services, EMEA is a senior leadership position responsible for the operational management of the EMEA Professional Services function. As a non-billable leader, the Director’s primary mandate is to drive delivery excellence, develop team capability, and cultivate director-level client relationships during the project phase of the customer journey.
Acting as the senior point of escalation and executive sponsor for high-complexity engagements, the Director ensures that clients receive the right level of oversight, accountability, and strategic guidance from engagement kick-off through to successful go-live and adoption.
Role and Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of 8–10 Professional Services professionals across EMEA, including Technical Consultants and Implementation Specialists.
Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular 1:1s and formal reviews, and create individual development plans aligned to both business needs and personal career aspirations.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and client-centricity within the team.
Manage resourcing and capacity planning across the EMEA delivery portfolio, ensuring optimal team utilisation and the right skills are allocated to the right engagements.
Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members as the practice scales.
Client Relationships & Executive Engagement
Serve as the director-level executive sponsor and primary escalation point for complex, strategic client engagements during the project phase of their journey.
Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders (C-suite, VP, and Director level) across the EMEA region.
Partner with Customer Success to contribute project delivery insight, during active engagements for QBR’s and other operational sessions or opportunities.
Represent Professional Services in client-facing governance forums, steering committees, and milestone reviews.
Champion the voice of the client internally, feeding insight back to Product, Customer Success, and Sales to inform roadmap priorities and account strategy.
Delivery Excellence & Programme Oversight
Provide senior oversight across a portfolio of Professional Services engagements, from small projects and customer enhancements through to complex, multi-workstream implementation and on-premise to SaaS migration programmes, ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, in scope, and to the highest quality standards. Partner with the Delivery Standards function to inform, adopt, and continuously improve delivery frameworks, methodologies, and best practices for the EMEA Professional Services function.
Monitor programme health across the regional portfolio using defined KPIs; proactively identify and resolve risks, blockers, and escalations before they impact client outcomes.
Ensure PMO-defined project governance standards are consistently applied across all engagements, holding teams accountable for adherence.
Drive adoption of standardised tools, templates, and processes that improve consistency and reduce time-to-value for clients.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with the Head of PMO to align on project governance standards, resource allocation, and programme reporting across the region.
Collaborate with Customer Success & Support to ensure smooth handover from the implementation phase, enabling clients to maximise long-term product value and supporting renewal and expansion objectives.
Work alongside Sales and pre-sales teams during the deal cycle to scope complex Professional Services engagements, contribute to proposals and SoWs, and set realistic client expectations.
Engage with Product and Engineering to relay client feedback from implementations, influence product direction based on real-world deployment insights, and stay ahead of platform developments.
Commercial & Strategic Accountability
Play a key role in driving the EMEA Professional Services P&L performance, supporting the Head of Services EMEA & India, by managing the operational inputs that influence project margin. Such as resource utilisation, delivery mix and cost control.
Contribute to the EMEA Professional Services strategy, defining the regional growth plan in alignment with global leadership.
Contribute to Services Sales-led service portfolio evolution by providing delivery insight and implementation feedback on new service packages, accelerators that increase client success rates and reduce implementation risk.
Track and report on regional Professional Services KPIs including CSAT, time-to-go-live, on-time and budget delivery, team utilisation, and escalation rates.
