Role Purpose
We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Nutrition & Wellbeing Chef to lead the delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals that support health, wellbeing, and performance. This role combines culinary expertise with nutritional knowledge to create balanced menus, promote healthy eating habits, and contribute to the overall wellbeing of our clients, members, and team.
The successful candidate will have a passion for food, nutrition, fitness, and healthy living, with the ability to inspire others through engaging meal preparation, menu development, and wellbeing initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesCulinary & Food Service
- Plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals to the highest standards.
- Develop seasonal menus that align with healthy eating principles and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure meals are balanced, nutritious, appealing, and cost-effective.
- Manage food purchasing, stock control, and supplier relationships.
- Maintain exceptional standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and HACCP procedures.
Nutrition & Wellbeing
- Design menus that support health, fitness, weight management, and wellbeing goals.
- Cater for specific dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergen-sensitive, and performance-focused diets.
- Provide nutritional guidance and healthy eating advice where appropriate.
- Stay current with nutrition research and wellbeing trends.
- Promote healthy lifestyle initiatives and wellbeing campaigns.
Member & Client Engagement
- Support wellbeing events, workshops, and educational sessions.
- Create engaging food experiences that encourage healthier choices.
- Collaborate with fitness and wellbeing professionals to support holistic wellbeing programmes.
- Gather feedback and continuously improve meal offerings.
Operational Management
- Manage kitchen budgets and food costs.
- Reduce food waste through effective planning and inventory management.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff where required.
- Support recruitment and development of kitchen team members.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Professional chef qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience in menu planning and food preparation.
- Strong understanding of nutrition and healthy eating principles.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Passion for health, fitness, wellbeing, and customer service.
Desirable
- Qualification in Nutrition, Sports Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
- Experience working within a fitness, leisure, healthcare, hospitality, or wellbeing environment.
- Knowledge of sports nutrition and performance-focused meal planning.
- HACCP training.
- Experience delivering wellbeing programmes or workshops.
