Citizens Advice Cheshire West is seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable and motivated Macmillan Money & More Adviser to join our team.
The role focuses on improving the financial wellbeing of people affected by cancer, including their families and carers. You will help clients maximise their income, access benefits, grants and other financial support, and reduce financial pressures. You will provide holistic advice covering benefits, debt, housing, employment and essential living costs, as well as practical support with forms, applications and urgent issues.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations, you will deliver advice through outreach, home visits, telephone and email.
We are looking for someone with recent experience providing generalist social welfare advice and an understanding of the challenges associated with cancer, long-term illness and disability. You will need to be calm, empathetic and sensitive, while providing clear, accurate and empowering advice. Strong organisation, effective caseload management, reliability and a collaborative approach are essential.
Knowledge of Macmillan Cancer Support services and completion of the Citizens Advice basic training programme are desirable.
A full, clean driving licence and access to your own transport are required for outreach, although this requirement is waived where disability prevents driving.
You will join a trusted local charity with over 100 staff and volunteers, offering flexible working, enhanced annual leave and sick pay, an Employee Assistance Programme, health benefits, and ongoing coaching and mentoring. Most importantly, you will make a direct and meaningful difference to people’s lives across Cheshire West.
