JOB DESCRIPTION
HANDYMAN
Responsible to: Manager
Position is 40 hours split between 2 homes
A current driving license is essential.
Principle responsibilities:
1. To work independently within ones own capabilities to a high standard of finish.
2. To maintain the structure and fabric of the Home, repairing and preserving where necessary.
3. To conform to and understand the Health and Safety Regulations including lone working.
4. To observe the privacy of the clients and demonstrate a caring and understanding nature.
5. To collect medical and sundry items as and when required.
6. To recognize confidentiality regarding the Home, the clients and visitors.
7. To repair and prepare equipment/site or furniture as requested.
8. To maintain the building to current legislation and to the company’s manual.
9. To prepare, retain and present relevant records in all aspects of the Homes safety policies and manuals.
10. To liaise with the Companies maintenance contractors and ensure their value for money.
11. To work safely and ensure the Home meets and complies with all regulatory requirements, including fire, etc.
12. To advise the Manager or Company on matters of safety or maintenance.
13. To adhere to working budgets and furnish the management with costings and information on pricing.
14. To complete the necessary reports and forms as required by the company.
15. To undertake essential errands.
16. To maintain the grounds (if relevant) removing any risks.
17. To be accountable for their whereabouts and work quality, detailing jobs completed if requested.
18. You have a duty of care to have the appropriate vaccination relevant to protect the vulnerable clients that you serve.
