Burleigh House Day Nursery is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dependable person to join our team as an Apprentice Nursery Assistant.
This role offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in a busy nursery while working towards a recognised Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development.
The successful applicant will work alongside our experienced and qualified nursery team. Required apprenticeship training, study and assessments will take place during paid working hours.
Main responsibilities
Supporting children’s care, learning, play and development
Helping to provide a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment
Assisting with age-appropriate activities and daily routines
Supporting children during meals, rest periods and personal-care routines
Following safeguarding, health and safety, infection-control and confidentiality procedures
Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
Completing apprenticeship coursework, training and assessments
Attending staff meetings, supervision sessions and progress reviews
Following all nursery policies and reasonable instructions
We are looking for someone who:
Is aged 16 or over
Is interested in developing a career in childcare
Is kind, patient, reliable and responsible
Enjoys working with young children
Is willing to learn and complete an apprenticeship qualification
Communicates well and works positively as part of a team
Understands the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality
Can demonstrate good timekeeping and attendance
Is eligible to undertake a Welsh Government-funded apprenticeship
Previous nursery experience is not essential, as training and supervision will be provided.
