About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Supported Housing Officer to manage one supported housing scheme (up to 80 residents) in Epping.You will be the main point of contact for residents, many of whom have experienced homelessness, domestic violence, cognitive challenges or age-related frailty. Your role is simple but powerful: deliver kind, practical housing support that helps people feel safe, stay in their homes, and live as independently as possible.You will manage a single scheme, so you will really get to know the residents and make a genuine difference every day.
What you’ll do day-to-day
- Welcome new residents and help them settle in from day one
- Support people to understand and keep to their tenancy agreements
- Carry out regular welfare checks, risk assessments and make referrals when extra help is needed
- Manage repairs, health & safety, and keep communal areas clean and welcoming
- Handle voids, lettings and income collection sensitively
- Work closely with care providers, families and other teams
- Involve residents in decisions about their home and community
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle (this is a mobile role – must drive)
- Enhanced DBS (mandatory)
- Experience delivering customer-focused support (housing or social care background preferred)
- Warm, approachable and professional manner
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Comfortable using basic IT systems
- Good numeracy and literacy skills (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Relevant qualification in social care, housing or similar
