Rehabilitation Assistant / Support Worker (Plymouth)

If so, we are looking to grow Team Steps, where you will be caring for clients in their own homes and developing your skills as a rehabilitation support worker through our client specific training programmes - both online and in a bespoke classroom-based setting. When working independently with one of our clients, you will never be without assistance from us - thanks to our office team, who run a 24/7 on-call service.
One of our clients is 62 years-old and suffered a traumatic brain injury following an accident in 2022. He has recently moved back to his own home and requires 24-hour support. The client is very sociable and enjoys watching competitive sports and other programmes on TV.
One of our other main clients is a man in his 50’s who requires 1:1 support from staff Monday-Sunday, this will be a long day of 08:00-21:00 - sometimes this day is split up between support workers.
This client is very outgoing and enjoys accessing the community with his support workers, he really enjoys having a busy day and likes to go out swimming. If he’s at home he enjoys playing games and carrying out his rehabilitation programme.
This role is based in Plymouth, and surrounding areas,a variety of hours are available on a full-time basis.
We are offering 24-hour shifts from 08:00-08:00, this is including a sleep, over a two-week rolling rota with one client.
The other client requires support between 08:00-21:00 - this is sometimes split into smaller shifts.
Also have Smaller Shifts available
An element of weekend work will be required.
Responsibilities will include
· Arranging and supporting to attend appointments
· General upkeep of the property
· Administering medication
· Accessing the community
. Assisting with the client's programme of rehabilitation
. Personal care where applicable
Requirements for the position
· Acquired Brain Injury experience is preferred
· Six months health and social care experience is preferable; however, transferrable skills and personal experience will also be considered.
