About the role:
As a Housekeeper at DFS you'll play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and organised factory environment. Working closely with Team Leaders and colleagues across the production floor, you'll ensure all areas are kept clean, tidy and free from hazards, helping production run smoothly and efficiently. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires a proactive approach, a strong work ethic and pride in maintaining high standards. What you'll be doing:
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across all factory floor areas, walkways and shared spaces.
Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and cleaning production areas using appropriate equipment and cleaning products.
Emptying bins and disposing of waste safely, ensuring recycling procedures are followed where required.
Keeping workstations, welfare areas and communal spaces clean, tidy and well presented.
Cleaning machinery, equipment and fixtures where appropriate and in line with safe working procedures.
Responding promptly to spills and ensuring hazards are removed quickly to maintain a safe working environment.
Supporting production teams by keeping work areas organised and free from obstructions.
Replenishing cleaning supplies and reporting any shortages or equipment faults to the relevant Team Leader.
Carrying out housekeeping duties in line with health and safety policies and site procedures.
Using cleaning equipment safely and wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Working collaboratively with Team Leaders and colleagues across the factory to support efficient day-to-day operations.
Reporting any maintenance issues, damage or potential safety hazards as they arise.
Taking pride in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for colleagues and visitors.
Supporting continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve housekeeping standards and workplace organisation.
Carrying out any other reasonable housekeeping duties required to support the smooth running of the manufacturing operation.
