Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment. Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher, maintaining discipline and organisation.
- Implement planned lessons or activities provided by the class teacher, ensuring continuity of learning.
- Support students with special educational needs, including those with autism or disabilities, fostering an inclusive environment.
- Engage students through creative writing exercises, tutoring, and mentoring to promote their academic and personal development.
- Communicate effectively with students to encourage positive behaviour and participation.
- Monitor student progress and behaviour, reporting any concerns to relevant staff members.
- Assist in creating a safe and welcoming classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in educational settings is desirable.
- Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Experience in tutoring or mentoring students is preferred.
- Creative writing skills are a plus, enabling engaging lesson support.
- A genuine interest in supporting student development and fostering inclusive learning environments.
- Flexibility and organisational skills to adapt to various classroom settings and student needs.
