To support our ongoing success and the rapid growth of our internal and customer vehicle build operations, we are seeking a self-motivated, meticulous, and professional Mechanic to join our team.

The Role
As a Mechanic within our vehicle operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the exceptional standards and technical precision that define Bourne HPP.
On a day-to-day basis, your work will typically involve:
- Engine & Drivetrain: Engine removals, installations, and component fitment.
- Vehicle Preparation: Thorough spanner checks, routine prep for track and road use, and working closely with our engineers to apply precise suspension setups.
- Dyno Operations: Strapping vehicles onto our rolling road dyno, working alongside our in-house tuner, and driving vehicles during power tests (full training provided).
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Builds: Build and assemble high-performance customer cars and race vehicles to exacting standards.
- Prototype Assembly: Assist with the assembly and build of prototype race cars and development vehicles.
- Build Records & Administration: Manage and prioritize daily task lists, maintain accurate build logs, fill out job cards, and record labor time spent on each vehicle.
- Workshop Excellence: Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organised, safe, and highly professional workshop environment.
Track Support Opportunities
This position is primarily workshop-based and does not include mandatory track support responsibilities. However, if you are keen to gain trackside experience, this can be explored. Opportunities may be available to join our race team on race weekends, providing track support both across the UK and abroad.
Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a vehicle technician or mechanic.
- Strong background in mechanical part fitting (e.g., suspension assembly, engine removal/installation).
- Motorsport experience is a bonus, but not required—we value strong mechanical aptitude and the right mindset.
- Qualifications:
- IMI Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Technical Skills & Mindset:
- Strong general technical and mechanical knowledge.
- Exceptional attention to detail, pride in work quality, and a clean, methodical working style.
- High level of self-motivation and a strong professional work ethic.
- Compliance & Logistics:
- Valid UK Driver’s License and current Passport.
- An LGV/HGV license is a significant advantage.
