Every dog is different and at the Tartan Pooch Parlour we take all shapes and sizes, young and old as we believe that every Pooch deserves to be pampered! We are a well established salon and are nearing our 9 year anniversary, and are located in the lovely town of Bonnyrigg, just a 20 minute drive from the centre of Edinburgh. We service a big client base from the local community and towns all around Edinburgh and Midlothian.
We are looking for a dog passionate person to join our friendly team in either a part-time or full-time basis, and are offering competitive pay that vary based on level of experience and dedication. Successful candidates will also get free onsite parking, flexible working hours based on their availability, staff uniform, as well as various discounts.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Professional dog grooming experience
This is preferred but not essential (Please insure you tell us about all dog care related experience). What is necessary is a true passion for dogs and the willingness to go above and beyond in the caring for our beloved pooches!
- Confidence with all breeds of dogs
You will be working with all breeds and all sizes. In a grooming environment dogs can be nervous and we take every measure to keep a calm and safe salon. Having confidence is key in keeping everyone, both pets and people, happy and relaxed.
- Excellent communication skills
These skills will be necessary as you will be interacting with customers in order to care for their pets throughout the day. Answering phones , replying to message and checking social media may also fall into your role.
- Maintaining salon presentation
Ensure high standards are continuously kept to maintain cleanliness, safety and excellent housekeeping.
