Grove Social Care are looking to recruit an Area Manager predominantly covering our Central Region. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a management team that manages supported accommodation placements.
£27,560 plus additional pay when on call (1 night on call is contractual and already included in the salary).
Expected hours: 32 per week
5 hours of this is direct support in homes in your area.

Who are we?
Grove Social Care are an Ofsted Registered Supported Accommodation Provider, we provide semi-independent supported accommodation for 16-18 year old young people within the care sector.
We work with Local Authorities to provide placements for young people across England in our homes. Our Support Staff provide support to young people on their journey to independent living, with life skills, support to find employment and training and with their health. We support young people with a range of background experiences. We listen to young people and include their views in all of our work.

What does the role involve?
As Area Manager you are responsible for the day-to-day service delivery in the Grove Social Care Supported Accommodation in your allocated area. It’s a varied and flexible role, a challenging yet rewarding position.
Alongside the Registered Service Manager and senior management team, you will be managing young people’s placements - supporting and mentoring them to achieve positive outcomes and finding and giving them opportunities to develop themselves.
You will be supporting and supervising the support workers in your area to follow the goals, guidance and monitoring requirements set for your team.
You will ensure that the service you and Support Workers deliver to young people is of the highest quality and the living environments are safe, secure and clean, compliant with “The Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023 (Ofsted), meeting company standards and Local Authority contractual obligations and following policies and risk assessments.
You will manage a service that supports young people to achieve their goals, access education, employment and training, gain essential life skills (such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and booking appointments) and develop healthy lifestyles, positive relationships, self-esteem, and confidence.
You and your team will engage young people to participate in positive activities, in the placement and in the community and provide emotional support to support young people who may have complex needs and present challenging behaviour.

Holidays: The Employee is entitled in addition to the statutory public holidays to take 18 working days as holidays in each holiday year and the Employee will be paid their normal basic remuneration during such holidays

Responsible for: Support Workers / Key Workers and Young People placed in Grove Social Care.

Your principal duties:
- To supervise the Support Workers allocated to your provisions, visiting each home across the week. Create good working relationships with Support Workers, creating positive working environment.
- Co-operate with the Registered Service Manager to deliver happy, supportive, and secure homes for young people and to work with Support Workers to help young people achieve their placement plan outcomes.
- Make sure that you and your team make safeguarding of young people your priority and keep matters concerning them strictly confidential. Protect the welfare of young people and ensure Support Workers follow policy and procedure to report any acts of abuse or poor practice.
- Ensure that the Registered Service Manager and relevant professionals are kept informed of a young person’s progress or any challenges arising.
- Ensure that you and Support Workers complete necessary monitoring records for the service you provide and the young person’s progress and submit these in the required timeframe.
- Hold 6 weekly face to face supervisions with Support Workers.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed for young people in your area to protect their welfare.
- Complete Property Visits across your region each week producing weekly visit sheet, ensuring that all daily and weekly safety checks are carried out. Complete and sign the Property Visit forms, raise any issues with the Maintenance Team.
- Oversee that support staff, follow risk assessments and placement plans in place.
- Deal with issues promptly and notify the Service Manager, Head of Service, or on-call if assistance needed.
- Maintain your files and records relating to the team and young people, including progress reports and incident reports to review with your line manager
- Develop positive relationships with young people placed in your region, ensuring that their voice is heard, and they are provided with the best support possible, compliant with Ofsted regulations and local authority contracts and Grove Social Care Policies and Procedures.
Background Service Understanding
· Be familiar with Grove Social Care policies and procedures.
