Leisure Club Assistant
We are looking to recruit a full time gym and leisure assistant to deliver a great experience for our members and guests. The hours for this role are 16 hours per week, with weekend work expected on a regular basis.
Bringing previous working experience in a fitness and leisure environment, you’ll be keen to assist in the running of the leisure club, including assisting our members, hotel guests and visitors with their fitness routine.
Pool plant qualification / knowledge would be an advantage.
We ideally look for candidates who are qualified to a Level 2 Gym Instructor and possess a current first aid qualification.
Having previous experience of the leisure industry you will have excellent customer service skills will some experience of selling memberships.
Responsibilities:
- To report any breakdowns and promptly rectified .
- To ensure opening and close down procedures are carried out with specific emphasis on checking cleanliness, maintenance and safety of all equipment.
- To be fully aware of Reception, Gymnasium, Pool, Spa, Sauna and Steam room safe operating Procedures.
- To oversee the control of the daily takings throughout the day.
- To operate the Leisure Club Reception computer system.
- To be responsible for the cleanliness of the Leisure Club at all times in accordance with Leisure Club/Company procedures and Health and Safety regulations.
- To be responsible for the supervision and safety of guests and members of the Leisure Club.
- To ensure that all persons entering the Leisure Club are correctly registered, e.g. as members, guests or non-members.
- To make regular checks on the stock of towels, tissues, soap, toilet paper etc, ensuring an adequate stock is available at all times.
- To be responsible for the smooth operation of the Leisure Club whilst on duty, carrying out regular water tests on the swimming pool and spa, taking immediate action should the results of these tests pose any danger to users.
- To be able to sell membership to potential members.
- To have a good general understanding of Health & Safety legislation including that of Risk Assessments and COSHH.
- To be constantly aware of opportunities to promote the Leisure Club through all sales outlets and also in the local community.
The Holiday Inn Newcastle Gosforth Park occupies a rural setting surrounded by 16 acres of countryside and has 11 meeting rooms for up to 400 guests and 151 Bedrooms.
We are located in Seaton Burn (NE13 6BP) - 8 miles north of the Newcastle City Centre.
