We have an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the education and future pathways of children and young people in Enfield who are involved with the Youth Justice Service. Enfield Virtual School is seeking a Youth Justice Advisory Teacher to support children aged 1018 who are known to the Youth Justice Service. The post will be line-managed by Enfield Virtual School and based within Enfield’s Youth Justice Service, ensuring strong links between education and youth justice practice. The role will focus on improving education, training and employment outcomes by providing expert advice, supporting improved attendance, reducing exclusions, removing barriers to learning, and working closely with schools, colleges, Youth Justice caseworkers and wider partners.
Enfield Council is committed to making a positive difference for children, young people and families. Within Children and Family Services, our Virtual School and Youth Justice Service work collaboratively to promote inclusion, raise aspirations and ensure vulnerable learners receive the right support to achieve their potential.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with leadership experience and a strong commitment to inclusion, equity, safeguarding and improving life chances. They will have a sound understanding of statutory guidance relating to safeguarding, SEND, attendance, exclusions, admissions, behaviour, post-16 pathways and the needs of young people with complex vulnerabilities. The successful candidate will be confident working across multi-agency networks, producing reports, delivering training, using data to drive improvement, and advocating effectively for children and young people open to the Youth Justice Service who are at risk of becoming NEET.
If you are passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable young people and have the skills to influence practice across education and youth justice, we would welcome your application.
