Print production assistant
The purpose of this role is to support Silverback’s new operating model. The role will help the business operate more efficiently, improve productivity, reduce unnecessary costs and support the company’s move towards a more responsive Print On Demand model.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow Silverback’s Print On Demand process from start to finish.
- Review the day’s print requirements and understand which garments, sizes, colours and designs are required.
- Gather the required stock for each day’s print orders.
- Check garments before production to ensure the correct product, size and colour has been selected.
- Prepare garments for printing, including pre-treatment where required.
- Operate the DTG machine safely, correctly and to the required production standard.
- Ensure designs are printed in the correct position and to the required quality standard.
- Monitor the print process and identify any errors, faults or inconsistencies.
- Report and, where appropriate, correct print issues, garment defects or production errors.
- Carry out quality checks on garments before they move to packing or dispatch.
- Pack completed orders accurately and ensure they are ready for dispatch.
- Work closely with the other Garment Technician to support the smooth running of the POD process.
- Maintain accurate stock levels within the warehouse.
- Support stock management, including checking, organising and replenishing stock.
- Receive incoming stock deliveries and ensure items are checked, recorded and stored correctly.
- Keep the warehouse, production area and equipment clean, tidy and organised.
- Follow all company procedures relating to DTG printing, garment preparation, order fulfilment, stock handling and health and safety.
- Help identify ways to improve efficiency, reduce waste and minimise production errors.
- Support wider warehouse, production or fulfilment tasks where required by the needs of the business.
Essential Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
- Experience in a practical, hands-on role such as production, warehouse, fulfilment, garment handling or similar.
- Experience in previous DTG printing roles (advantageous)
- Ability to follow a detailed process accurately and consistently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work carefully with garments, print instructions and customer order information.
- Ability to identify errors or quality issues during the production process.
- Confidence using equipment, or willingness to be trained on DTG machinery and related production equipment.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet production or dispatch deadlines.
- Reliability and good timekeeping.
- Ability to work well as part of a small team.
- Willingness to support stock management, warehouse organisation and general fulfilment tasks.
- Ability to follow health and safety requirements.
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to adapt to Silverback’s new operating model, along with a positive can do attitude.
Desirable Skills and Experience
It would be advantageous for the candidate to have:
· Previous experience in a similar role.
· Experience working in an ecommerce, retail, production, fulfilment or Print On Demand environment.
· Understanding of stock control, order fulfilment, garment production or quality control.
· Experience helping to improve processes or ways of working.

Additional Notes
This role forms part of Silverback’s proposed new operating model. The responsibilities, reporting lines and working patterns may be subject to consultation and may be reviewed as the needs of the business develop. This role will require flexibility for shift and weekend work.
Pay: £25,420.00 per year
