Melanie Richard’s Hair & Beauty is an established, award-winning salon in Peterborough city centre, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Hair Stylist to join our growing team.
We’ve been established for 15 years, operate across three floors and have a team of 15 hair and beauty professionals. Our beauty salon was added in 2019, and we continue to grow.
If you’re an experienced stylist who can confidently run your own column, loves cutting and colouring and wants to develop your skills further, we'd love to hear from you.
And you don't need to be able to do hair extensions — that can be part of your future with us.

About the role:
Our Stylists are crucial to our continued success and our reputation as one of the premier salons in the region.We specialise in creative hairdressing and colouring, and we're looking for someone who takes pride in delivering an exceptional client experience.You'll need to be confident running your own column and have a minimum of 2 years' salon experience.
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing thorough, personalised consultations
- Creating beautiful cuts and colours
- Highlights and balayage
- Full-head colour and root bleach
- Maintaining excellent hair condition and recommending appropriate treatments
- Recommending deep treatments, scalp treatments and in-colour bond-building treatments
- Keeping up with current cutting and colouring trends
- Recommending suitable home-care products
- Building and maintaining a busy column of returning clients
- Delivering exceptional customer service
- Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic working environment
- Sharing your knowledge and supporting Junior Stylists and Apprentices
What we're looking for:
We're looking for a confident, professional and passionate Hair Stylist who:
- Has at least 2 years' salon experience
- Is confident running their own column
- Has strong cutting and colouring skills
- Can confidently carry out highlights, balayage and colour services
- Understands the importance of consultation and attention to detail
- Wants to continue learning and developing
- Takes pride in delivering outstanding client service
- Is commercially aware and motivated to grow their column
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Is happy to share knowledge with Junior Stylists and Apprentices

You'll have access to ongoing in-salon education and development, including training with Aveda, Fantastic Hairdresser, Great Lengths and Antony Whitaker.
You'll also have the opportunity to learn from our Aveda Colour Expert and Great Lengths Extensions Educator.
Whether you want to develop your colouring, cutting, consultations, retail skills, extensions or commercial performance, we'll support you.
Our quarterly 1-to-1 meetings are designed to help you identify opportunities, grow your column and increase your earning potential.
