Job Overview: 1:1 Early years Educator
We are seeking a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 Nursery Support Educator to provide individualised support for a child within our nursery setting. The successful candidate will work closely with the child, nursery team, parents/carers and external professionals to ensure the child's developmental, emotional, social and educational needs are met in a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.
The role requires someone who can build positive relationships, promote independence, support learning through play and help the child access all aspects of nursery life in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
The successful candidate will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and will demonstrate an understanding of child protection responsibilities, confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with additional or individual needs.
- Support the child's learning, development and wellbeing through planned and spontaneous play opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with nursery staff, parents/carers and external agencies to implement support plans and developmental targets.
- Promote the child's independence, confidence and participation in nursery activities.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to observations, assessments and progress reviews.
- Ensure the child's safety, welfare and emotional wellbeing at all times.
- Follow nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and inclusion.
- Attend relevant training, meetings and supervision sessions as required.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with young children, preferably within an early years setting.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy and a child-centred approach.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Show a commitment to inclusive practice and supporting children's individual needs.
- Understand safeguarding responsibilities and the importance of maintaining professional conduct.
- Hold a relevant childcare qualification (Level 3).
- Must pass a DBS and Be able to get 2 References
Pay: £25,500.00-£26,500.00 per year
