Every young person deserves a teacher who refuses to give up on them.
At Venture Independent School, we are building something different.
We are a new, specialist independent school for young people who have found mainstream education difficult due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, neurodivergence, trauma, or emotionally based school avoidance. Many of our pupils have experienced significant barriers to learning and need adults who can see beyond behaviour, recognise potential, and help them believe in themselves again.
We are seeking an exceptional teacher who is motivated not simply by academic outcomes, but by the opportunity to transform lives.
This is a rare opportunity to join a small, ambitious school at the beginning of its journey and help shape a learning environment where relationships come first, wellbeing matters, and every success is celebrated.
The Difference You Will Make
As a teacher at Venture, you won't be teaching hundreds of pupils every week.
Instead, you will work with small classes, build meaningful relationships, and create the kind of learning experiences that reignite confidence, curiosity and hope.
You will have the autonomy to be creative, the support to innovate, and the opportunity to make a genuine and lasting impact on the lives of young people who need it most.
Our pupils may not remember every lesson you teach.
But they will remember the teacher who believed in them.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Sees potential where others see barriers
- Understands that behaviour is communication
- Builds strong, authentic relationships with young people
- Is resilient, compassionate and emotionally intelligent
- Believes that every child can succeed with the right support
- Can deliver engaging and adaptive teaching to meet a range of needs
- Enjoys working collaboratively within a highly supportive team
- Is committed to inclusion, nurture and trauma-informed practice
Experience within SEMH, SEND, Alternative Provision or specialist settings would be advantageous, but we are equally interested in outstanding teachers who share our values and are passionate about making a difference.
