Come and join us at Girlguiding, the UK's biggest girl-only charity. We have units for girls aged 4 right the way to 18, across Chapel-en-le-Frith, Whaley Bridge, Combs, and Chinley.
As a volunteer unit helper, you will be part of a leadership team that plans and delivers weekly meetings for girls and young women. You don't need any particular skills or experience, just the commitment to providing a safe space where girls can be themselves, learn new skills, and make friends.
No two units are the same, but this might involve:
- Helping the girls decide what activities they want to do this term
- Planning activities (using resources provided, or your own ideas)
- Making the activities happen during weekly meetings
- Going on days out, or even residential trips
Essential requirements
- Willingness to work directly with girls and young women
- Reliability
- Willing to try new things and have a go
You will need to have an enhanced DBS check, complete safeguarding training, and provide details of two people who can act as character references.
