We're recruiting on behalf of a Leading fresh food restaurant group as they prepare to launch an exciting new flagship restaurant in South Bank. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the kitchen of a high-profile, 200-cover restaurant, managing a large brigade while helping shape the culture and success of a brand-new opening. The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a flagship kitchen within a fast-growing, quality-led restaurant group, taking full responsibility for a large, high-performing kitchen operation.You'll oversee a brigade of 25 chefs, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency and service while creating a positive, supportive environment where your team can thrive. Alongside leading the day-to-day operation, you'll focus on developing your team, maintaining strong financial controls and delivering the high standards expected within a structured, quality-driven business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, inspire and develop a brigade of 25 chefs, including 4 Sous Chefs
- Deliver consistently high standards of fresh food in a high-volume environment
- Recruit, coach and develop your kitchen team
- Drive a positive and inclusive kitchen culture
- Manage labour, food costs and kitchen performance
- Maintain excellent food safety and compliance standards
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure operational excellence
- Play a key role in the successful launch and ongoing development of the restaurant
What we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced Head Chef who has a proven background leading large kitchen teams within premium, fresh food restaurants. You'll be a confident leader who enjoys developing people, thrives in high-volume operations and understands the importance of structure, consistency and commercial performance. You'll likely have experience within a recognised restaurant brand and be comfortable managing large brigades while maintaining exceptional food standards.
You'll be:
- An experienced Head Chef from a fresh food background
- Comfortable leading large kitchen teams
- Highly organised and commercially aware
- A strong communicator and natural leader
- Passionate about developing people
- Calm under pressure
- Quality focused with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience within a structured branded environment and opening experience would be highly advantageous.
