Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Home Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of a residential care facility for children. This vital role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive, develop, and feel valued. As the Children’s Home Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff, implementing care plans, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Your leadership will foster a positive atmosphere that promotes the well-being and growth of every child in your care.
Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of care staff, ensuring high standards of care and professionalism at all times
- Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans tailored to each child's needs, including those requiring dementia or Alzheimer’s care support
- Oversee medication administration and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation related to care activities, incident reports, and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to support children’s health needs and manage medication schedules
- Foster strong relationships with children, families, social workers, and external agencies to promote collaborative care
- Ensure the home environment complies with all relevant legislation and quality standards in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments, with a focus on senior or dementia care
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or management experience in a care home setting
- Knowledge of care planning processes and experience developing personalized care strategies
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and safety regulations
- Excellent communication skills to effectively lead staff and engage with children’s families and external partners
- Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy, patience, and professionalism
- Relevant qualifications in nursing, senior care, or social work are highly desirable
