Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a cook at our residential care home. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality for our residents. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in meal preparation for breakfast, lunch, or dinner service
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Ensure all food is stored correctly and rotated appropriately to prevent waste
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Serve meals efficiently and courteously to care
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation or cooking, ideally within a restaurant or catering environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail when preparing meals and maintaining cleanliness
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to different tasks within the kitchen setting
- Previous experience in meal preparation, culinary roles, or serving is highly desirable
Hours
- Weekday Shift Timings: 07:30-17:30
- 20-25 hours per week including alternate weekends
