Dumfries and Galloway Mental Health Association was established in 1988, providing care and support for adults across Dumfries and Galloway with a diagnosed mental health condition. We are a Registered Scottish Charity with a strong vision and drive to deliver excellence in care support provision.
We are looking for a part time Support Worker to join our established team providing support for up to ten adults living in a Registered Care Home enabling our residents to fully engage in life.
Full training and support will be provided; however, we do require candidates who have a good depth of awareness, understanding and experience of Mental Health and have the ability to create, develop and drive forward personalised support plans.
The role will involve supporting residents with complex needs with all aspects of home and community living, emotional and phycological support while promoting independence. We seek to empower and build confidence ensuring a healthy and fulfilled daily lifestyle. Support can often be a listening ear, signposting, engaging in social activities, medication administration, meal preparation, attending appointments alongside coping mechanisms and wellbeing support.
Based in Dumfries with additional flexible hours available including days, evenings, waking nights and weekends. You will ideally have previous experience in social care and a relevant qualification. However, we are willing to invest and commit to fully training the right candidate for the role as we pride ourselves on a value based ethos.
In return you will work for a Charity that puts adult wellbeing and safeguarding at the forefront of everything we do and be part of a friendly, ambitious, driven and innovative team.
We are committed to safer care for adults receiving our services, as such we will be using a demanding and rigorous selection process to fill this post including a Screening Interview, Panel Interview, Service User involvement and full Disclosure Scotland PVG check. References will be taken after successful Screening Interview.
