We are currently seeking an experienced, organised and detail-oriented Accounts & Payroll Officer to join our finance team.
This varied role combines financial management with payroll administration, ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions and employee remuneration while supporting the smooth financial operation of the business.
This role is primarily based at The Atlantic Hotel, however travel to our other hotels in Falmouth and Truro will be required for initial training, annual leave cover, absences and to support business needs across the Cornwall Hotel Collection.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day accounting function, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.
- Complete daily banking, balancing and bank reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier payments and queries.
- Liaise with suppliers and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Calculate wages, deductions, tax and National Insurance contributions.
- Distribute employee wages via BACS and prepare payroll reports.
- .Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of accounting and payroll processes.
- Support annual audits and liaise with external auditors when required.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with accounting standards, payroll legislation and company procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an accounting and payroll management role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and payroll legislation.
- Experience using Sage accounting software is preferred.
- Experience using Xero is desirable.
- AAT qualification is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.

Pay: £15.00 per hour
