Job Summary
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Civil Engineering, Infrastructure & Marine projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring projects are completed within budget. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects while developing your expertise in cost control and project management.
Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects from initial design through to completion.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
- Conduct regular cost analysis and value engineering to optimise expenditure without compromising quality.
- Manage tendering processes, including evaluating bids and negotiating with suppliers and contractors.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and documentation related to project costs.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers and clients to ensure clear communication regarding financial aspects.
- Identify potential cost overruns early and implement corrective measures promptly.
- Assist in contract administration, including analysing contractual claims related to costs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role within the industry.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Good understanding of construction processes, contracts and legal frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Experience preparing and managing CVRs, outturn forecasts, and project financials.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors and team members.
- Advanced IT skills, particularly Excel and Microsoft Office
