Situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park, Hockley Golf Club has been welcoming members and guests since 1914. Our Clubhouse is the heart of our community, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere for our 600 members year-round.
We are looking for a full time friendly, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual to join our Food & Beverage team. The ideal candidate will have a ‘can-do’ attitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to engage with a wide variety of personalities. Previous experience in a bar or restaurant environment is preferred. This position is 30-35hrs per week, over 5 days. This is not a student summer job, this is for someone who is looking for a permanent position
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring members and guests feel welcome
- Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
- Upsell menu items and promote daily specials to enhance the guest experience
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely service
- Handle guest enquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally
- Process payments accurately, including handling cash and card transactions
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the Clubhouse
- Follow opening and closing procedures, including securing the Clubhouse when required
Skills & Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is desirable but not essential
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and closing procedures
- Understanding of food safety practices to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- A team player with a proactive and positive attitude
- Due to our location, reliable transportation is required
- Applicants must be 18 or over due to the serving of alcohol
