Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader to join our care home team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the residential unit at the home. This involves supervising daily care activities, supporting residents with their individual needs, and leading a team of care staff. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of care assistants, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and professional care in accordance with care plans.
- Assist residents with personal care, medication administration, and daily activities, respecting their dignity and independence.
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Provide leadership during shifts by organising staff schedules, delegating tasks effectively, and supporting team members as needed.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, colleagues, and external healthcare providers to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Support residents’ social engagement
- Maintain accurate documentation using IT systems for recording resident information, care plans, and incident reports.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a senior care or similar environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of care home operations, senior care requirements, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Competence in developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Good IT skills for documentation purposes and using electronic care management systems.

- At least one years experience administering medication in a residential care home setting
