Assistant Manager – Gaming & Entertainment Venue in London
We run one of London's most exciting gaming bars. Late nights, competitive tournaments, themed events, and a crowd that genuinely loves being here. We're growing fast — and we need an Assistant Manager who can own the full operational picture of the venue.
What you'll do
- Manage the day-to-day running of the venue, ensuring smooth service across the floor, bar, and kitchen
- Supervise and coordinate waiters, bartenders, and kitchen staff, stepping in to serve guests and work the floor yourself when needed
- Oversee purchasing and stock control, liaising with suppliers to keep the venue fully stocked
- Manage the POS and booking systems, ensuring accurate use across the team and resolving issues as they arise
- Greet guests, take orders, and serve food and drinks when covering the floor
- Handle payments accurately and train staff on POS procedures
- Ensure tables, bar areas, and other venue spaces are clean, well-presented, and running to standard
- Oversee setup of PCs and consoles for guests and troubleshoot as needed
What we're looking for
- Previous experience as a duty/assistant manager, supervisor, or senior team member in hospitality
- 5+ years of hospitality or waiting experience, with hands-on floor and bar skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills, comfortable managing a team of waiters, bartenders, and kitchen staff
- Experience with POS and booking systems, and confidence handling purchasing/stock management
- Reliable, punctual, and happy to work within XP Tavern's operating hours (5 days per week, including late nights and weekends)
- Right to work in the UK
Bonus points
- An understanding of the gaming industry — comfortable around PCs and consoles, or simply a gamer at heart
What we offer
- £30,000 base + a share of the venue's service charge on top of your base pay
- Room to grow as we grow
- Free drinks and meals during shifts, staff discounts, and venue access
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
