Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for creating exceptional dishes. This role involves overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met
- Manage food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in compliance with health regulations
- Assist in menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and ensure team cohesion
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer service during service hours
- Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed to prevent shortages or wastage
- Uphold hospitality standards by maintaining a welcoming environment for guests
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a culinary or restaurant environment, with a strong background in food preparation and cooking
- Supervising experience within a busy kitchen setting is highly desirable
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure during peak hours
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
- Experience in menu development, food production, and hospitality operations is preferred
- A recognised culinary qualification or relevant professional training is advantageous
