Simply Play
Simply Play is a social enterprise committed to providing professional School Aged Childcare in local communities across West Lothian and Edinburgh. We currently have venues in Broxburn, East Calder, 2 in Livingston, Wester Inch and Balerno.
About the Role
Our Playworkers are the backbone of Simply Play and our success is heavily dependent on their creativeness, enthusiasm, passion, and empathy. Working alongside our Childcare Managers and Modern Apprentices, our Playworkers are central to providing high quality School Age Childcare and helping children create Awesome Childhood Memories both indoors and outdoors.
Duties
We are not prescriptive about listing duties and responsibilities as no two days at Simply Play are the same! Some key aspects of the role include:
Teamwork
- Supporting your team to deliver the highest level of care for our children- including being punctual, reliable, and supportive..
Care & Play
- Planning and delivering a wide variety of age-appropriate indoor and outdoor play activities and opportunities in line with our Play Curriculum.
- Setting up for and clearing away activities at the start and end of each day.
Communication
- Attending and contributing to weekly team meetings.
- Welcoming and liaising with parents during pick up.
Keeping Everyone Safe
- Understanding and following safeguarding procedures.
- Carrying out risk assessments and dynamic risk assessments.
Requirements
- No formal childcare qualification is required. Although you must be working towards or willing to achieve a Level 7 SVQ in Social Services. We can help with training.
- Be able to register with the SSSC as a practitioner
- Be a member of or be able to join the PVG scheme.
Pay: £13.45 per hour
