Job Description: Quality Inspector
Location: Global Optics UK, BH12 1DW
Employment Type: Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 depending on experience
About Us
Global Optics (UK) Ltd is a leading supplier of precision optical components, providing custom-manufactured lenses, windows, prisms, mirrors, domes and other specialist optical components to customers worldwide.
We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our growing team. This role would suit someone who has excellent attention to detail, enjoys working with precision components, and has an interest in engineering or manufacturing.
Previous inspection experience is beneficial but not essential. Full training will be provided on our inspection equipment, processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out incoming and final inspection of precision optical components.
- Use precision measuring equipment and inspection systems to verify components meet specification.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
- Record inspection data using company software and computer systems.
- Identify and report non-conforming products.
- Support stock control, packing and dispatch activities when required.
- Carry out general administrative duties during quieter periods.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe inspection area.
- Assist with general housekeeping to ensure a tidy and professional working environment.
Skills & AttributesEssential
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Basic maths skills.
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software.
- Reliable, organised and methodical.
- Able to follow procedures accurately.
- Willing to learn and develop new skills.
Desirable
- Experience reading engineering drawings.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers or CMMs.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, engineering or quality inspection.
- Experience working with delicate or precision components.
