JOB DESCRIPTION – TOILET SERVICE TRUCK DRIVER
The service vehicle is a 3.5t Transit dropside with a vacuum pump and waste & fresh water tanks.
Hours of work – 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday- Friday with 1 hour for breaks
Full UK driving licence required
PPE - Driver will be provided with PVC gauntlets and gloves, hard hat and Hi Vis vest but will need to provide own steel toe capped boots
MAIN DUTIES
To service existing chemical toilets at various locations to be provided on a spreadsheet.
The number of calls can vary from 12 – 20 per day depending on the area being covered and the distance travelled from Colchester base.
Once on site the service truck driver will need to remove the contents of the waste tank in the chemical toilet, rinse with fresh water and then fill with some fresh water and chemical.
Each daily round is scheduled as economically as possible in terms of the mileage to be covered and we use W3W together with post codes to enable sites to be located
Full training will be given prior to any candidate undertaking a service call together with a driving assessment.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a company vehicle to transport goods and/or passengers to designated locations
- Follow all traffic laws & regulations to ensure a safe and efficient journey
- Maintain accurate daily service records, including receipts, mileage, and fuel usage
- Communicate effectively with the office, customers and team members
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, reporting any mechanical issues or damages immediately
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety protocols, vehicle cleanliness, and professional conduct
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a driver or in a similar role with local knowledge of the Colchester area a bonus
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of driving and work on site
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
