Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Steel Fixer to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for assembling and installing reinforced steel structures. Your expertise will ensure the structural integrity and safety of buildings and other structures. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to accurately position steel reinforcement.
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel reinforcement bars using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other necessary machinery.
- Assemble steel components on-site ensuring precise placement according to project plans.
- Tie rebar securely using binding wire or mechanical fasteners to maintain structural stability during concrete pouring.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, roofers, and other trades to coordinate the installation process efficiently.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to safety protocols and site regulations.
- Conduct quality checks on installed reinforcement to meet engineering standards and project specifications.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Steel Fixer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in welding techniques and the use of hand tools such as pliers, hammers, chisels, and measuring devices.
- Familiarity with power tools including grinders, cutters, and drills essential for steel fabrication.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to steel reinforcement installation and construction processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Experience in masonry, carpentry, roofing or heavy lifting is advantageous
- Physical strength and stamina to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
